IEEE 802.11i

IEEE 802.11i, an amendment to the IEEE 802.11 standard is also known as WPA2. It specifies security mechanisms for wireless networks and supersedes the previous security specification, Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) which had several weaknesses.

IEEE 802.11i uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) block cipher; WEP uses the RC4 Stream cipher.
